Proiectul 9front dezvolt\u0103 din 2011 un fork independent de compania Bell Labs al sistemului de operare distribuit Plan 9. Pachetele de instalare sunt disponibile pentru arhitecturile i386, x86_64 \u0219i pl\u0103cile Raspberry Pi 1-4. Codul este distribuit sub licen\u021ba MIT. O compunere muzical\u0103 asociat\u0103 lans\u0103rii este disponibil\u0103.    <\/p>\n<p>Ideea principal\u0103 a Plan 9 se axeaz\u0103 pe eliminarea diferen\u021belor \u00eentre resursele locale \u0219i cele remote. Sistemul reprezint\u0103 un mediu distribuit bazat pe trei principii fundamentale: toate resursele pot fi considerate un set ierarhic de fi\u0219iere; nu exist\u0103 nicio diferen\u021b\u0103 \u00een accesul la resursele locale \u0219i externe; fiecare proces are propriul spa\u021biu de nume variabil. Vulnerabilitatea permite unui utilizator cu un cont \u00een sistem s\u0103 se prezinte drept orice alt utilizator atunci c\u00e2nd interactioneaz\u0103 cu sistemul de fi\u0219iere. Cauza vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bii este lipsa unei corel\u0103ri corecte a numelui de utilizator transmis \u00een mesajele 9p Tauth \u0219i Tattach cu identificatorul UID al clientului, emis dup\u0103 autentificarea utilizatorului. Problema apare \u00een toate versiunile 9front (eroarea a fost introdus\u0103 \u00een codul Plan 9 \u00eenainte de crearea fork-ului), dar afecteaz\u0103 doar configura\u021biile cu sistemul de
