Proiectul a fost creat de compania Intel \u00een parteneriat cu Netflix cu scopul de a atinge un nivel de performan\u021b\u0103 adecvat pentru re-codificarea video \u00een timp real \u0219i pentru utilizarea \u00een servicii de livrare video la cerere (VOD). \u00cen prezent, dezvoltarea se desf\u0103\u0219oar\u0103 sub egida alian\u021bei Open Media (AOMedia), care coordoneaz\u0103 evolu\u021bia formatului de codificare video AV1. Anterior, proiectul a fost dezvoltat \u00een cadrul ini\u021biativei OpenVisualCloud, care dezvolt\u0103, de asemenea, encodoare SVT-HEVC \u0219i SVT-VP9. Codul este distribuit sub licen\u021ba BSD.     <\/p>\n<p>SVT-AV1 poate fi compilat pentru sisteme bazate pe orice arhitectur\u0103 pentru care exist\u0103 un compilator cu suport pentru standardul C99, dar cea mai bun\u0103 performan\u021b\u0103 se ob\u021bine pe sisteme x86_64, unde se aplic\u0103 optimiz\u0103ri assembler bazate pe instruc\u021biuni SIMD (este de preferat ca CPU s\u0103 aib\u0103 suport AVX2, dar ca minim este suficient suportul SS2). Consumul de memorie depinde de num\u0103rul de nuclee CPU utilizate \u00een procesul de codare, controlate prin op\u021biunea &#171;&#8212;lp&#187;. Din cauza complexit\u0103\u021bii algoritmilor utiliza\u021bi \u00een AV1, codarea acestui format necesit\u0103 resurse semnificativ mai mari dec\u00e2t alte formate, de exemplu, encoderul standard al proiectului AV1 necesit\u0103 de 5721, 5869 \u0219i 658 de ori mai multe calcule comparativ cu encoderele x264 (profil &#171;main&#187;), x264 (profil &#171;high&#187;) \u0219i libvpx-vp9.     <\/p>\n<p>Printre modific\u0103rile din noua versiune SVT-AV1:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost realizat\u0103 o optimizare a compromisurilor calitate\/vitez\u0103 pentru preset\u0103rile care ofer\u0103 un nivel mediu \u0219i ridicat de calitate. \u00cen modul &#171;fast-decode 2&#187; pentru preset\u0103rile M3-M10, viteza a crescut cu 15-25% men\u021bin\u00e2nd acela\u0219i nivel de calitate. Pentru preset\u0103rile M0-M2, nivelul de calitate a fost \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021bit cu aproximativ 1% prin evaluarea folosind metoda BD-Rate (Bjontegaard-Delta).\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00cen modul &#171;fast-decode 1&#187; comparativ cu &#171;fast-decode 0&#187;, num\u0103rul de cicluri de decodare a fost redus cu aproximativ 10% cu o cre\u0219tere a pierderilor de doar 1% conform metricii BD-Rate.\n<li class=\"l\"> Pe sistemele ARM au fost implementate optimiz\u0103ri utiliz\u00e2nd extensii Neon \u0219i SVE2, care au permis o cre\u0219tere a performan\u021bei de 10-25% pentru
