A\u0219a cum a declarat CEO-ul Microsoft, Satya Nadella, \u00een prezent se lucreaz\u0103 la adaptarea p\u0103r\u021bii userspace a popularului sistem de operare Windows la noul s\u0103u nucleu hibrid, bazat pe codurile surs\u0103 ale nucleului sistemului de operare FreeBSD. Astfel, Windows 12 este ultimul sistem de operare de la Microsoft care va utiliza nucleul NT, considerat moral dep\u0103\u0219it: versiunile ulterioare vor beneficia de un nou nucleu, cu numele de cod \u201eTomato\u201d.<\/p>\n

Una dintre principalele motive ale acestei decizii este reprezentat\u0103 de problemele cresc\u00e2nde legate de suportul nucleului NT, care nu mai corespunde realit\u0103\u021bii moderne, dar \u0219i de popularitatea \u00een cre\u0219tere a nucleelor de tip NIX \u00een segmentele dispozitivelor mobile \u0219i IoT.<\/p>\n

Se preconizeaz\u0103 c\u0103, pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 apelurile sistemice tradi\u021bionale pentru sistemele BSD, noul nucleu va avea, de asemenea, o interfa\u021b\u0103 alternativ\u0103 bazat\u0103 pe COM\/WinRPC pentru interac\u021biunea cu codul utilizatorului.
