O bibliotec\u0103 standard C, Glibc, a fost g\u0103sit\u0103 o vulnerabilitate (CVE-2025-4802) care permite execu\u021bia de cod cu privilegii ale altui utilizator, configurate la lansarea aplica\u021biilor cu flag-ul suid. Pericolul acestei probleme este diminuat de condi\u021biile \u00een care apare \u2014 dezvoltatorii Glibc nu au reu\u0219it s\u0103 g\u0103seasc\u0103 vreo program\u0103 suid la care ar putea fi aplicat\u0103 vulnerabilitatea descoperit\u0103. Cu toate acestea, nu este exclus ca \u00een utilizare s\u0103 existe programe suid proprii care s\u0103 \u00eendeplineasc\u0103 condi\u021biile pentru a efectua atacul. <\/p>\n

Exploatarea vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bii este posibil\u0103 doar pentru aplica\u021biile suid compilate static, care apeleaz\u0103 func\u021bia dlopen. Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 programele care apeleaz\u0103 direct dlopen, vulnerabilitatea afecteaz\u0103 \u0219i programele \u00een care func\u021bia dlopen este apelat\u0103 indirect, ca urmare a invoc\u0103rii setlocale sau a func\u021biilor NSS, cum ar fi getaddrinfo. <\/p>\n

Problema este cauzat\u0103 de procesarea variabilei de mediu LD_LIBRARY_PATH \u00een contextul aplica\u021biilor suid \u00een cazul apel\u0103rii dlopen din programe compilate static (ignorarea LD_LIBRARY_PATH a func\u021bionat doar \u00een cazul compunerii dinamice). Prin setarea unui drum \u00een LD_LIBRARY_PATH, un atacator poate organiza \u00eenc\u0103rcarea unei biblioteci false din propriul s\u0103u director. Vulnerabilitatea apare \u00eencep\u00e2nd cu versiunea Glibc 2.27 (februarie 2018) \u0219i a fost remediat\u0103 \u00een versiunea Glibc 2.39 (februarie 2024).
