Dezvoltatorii Ubuntu Linux au planificat trecerea la utilizarea implicit\u0103 a proiectului Chrony pentru sincronizarea precis\u0103 a timpului \u00een toate versiunile Ubuntu 25.10. NTS include dou\u0103 protocoale separate: NTS-KE (NTS Key Establishment), utilizat pentru gestionarea autentific\u0103rii ini\u021biale \u0219i negocierea cheilor peste TLS, \u0219i NTS-EF (NTS Extension Fields), care se ocup\u0103 cu criptarea \u0219i autentificarea sesiunii de sincronizare a timpului. NTS adaug\u0103 \u00een pachetele NTP c\u00e2teva c\u00e2mpuri extinse \u0219i p\u0103streaz\u0103 toate informa\u021biile de stare doar pe partea clientului, utiliz\u00e2nd mecanismul de transfer cookie. Pentru gestionarea conexiunilor prin protocolul NTS se utilizeaz\u0103 portul de re\u021bea 4460. <\/p>\n

Pachetul Chrony este deja inclus \u00een depozitul principal \u0219i este folosit \u00een mod implicit \u00een unele versiuni Ubuntu pentru sisteme cloud. Lucr\u0103rile pentru \u00eenlocuirea systemd-timesyncd cu Chrony vor \u00eencepe pe 2 iunie. Activarea Chrony \u00een versiunile de compilare va aduce o dependen\u021b\u0103 suplimentar\u0103, \u201elibedit2\u201d, \u0219i va duce la cre\u0219terea dimensiunii imaginii cu 803 KB.
