Decizia de blocare \u00een SpamAssassin este luat\u0103 \u00een mod complex. La \u00eenceput, mesajul este verificat folosind diferite metode, cum ar fi analiza de context, listele negre \u0219i albe DNSBL, clasificatoarele bayesiene \u00eenv\u0103\u021bate, semn\u0103turile spam-ului cunoscut, autentificarea expeditorului prin SPF \u0219i DKIM. Ca urmare a verific\u0103rilor efectuate, se acumuleaz\u0103 un coeficient de greutate, care nu trebuie s\u0103 dep\u0103\u0219easc\u0103 un anumit prag, altfel mesajul este blocat sau marcat ca spam. Pachetul poate fi utilizat at\u00e2t pe sisteme client, c\u00e2t \u0219i pe servere. Se suport\u0103 instrumente de actualizare automat\u0103 a regulilor de filtrare. Codul SpamAssassin este scris \u00een limbajul Perl \u0219i este distribuit sub licen\u021ba Apache 2.0.    <\/p>\n<p>\u00cen noua versiune:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Este asigurat suportul pentru versiunea din iulie Perl 5.42 \u0219i noile versiuni ale unor module Perl.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat pluginul Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::Redirectors pentru a determina URL-urile c\u0103tre care se face trimiterea prin servicii de redirec\u021bionare prin linkuri scurte.\n<li class=\"l\"> Pluginul HeaderEval a fost extins cu un handler pentru a determina anteturile nevalide.\n<li class=\"l\"> S-a ad\u0103ugat suport pentru replicare \u00een SGBD Redis.
