Andrzej Janik a prezentat versiunea ZLUDA 5, o implementare deschis\u0103 a tehnologiei CUDA. Scopul proiectului este de a oferi posibilitatea de a rula aplica\u021bii CUDA ne\u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021bite pe sisteme cu GPU-uri diferite de GPU-urile NVIDIA, cu performan\u021be apropiate de cele ale aplica\u021biilor executate f\u0103r\u0103 straturi. Codul proiectului este scris \u00een limbajul Rust \u0219i este distribuit sub licen\u021bele MIT \u0219i Apache 2.0. <\/p>\n
ZLUDA 5 a devenit a doua lansare semnificativ\u0103 a proiectului, format\u0103 dup\u0103 cur\u0103\u021barea bazei de cod de codul dezvoltat \u00een timpul lucr\u0103rii lui Andrzej la AMD. Din 2022, Andrzej a lucrat la AMD pentru a crea un strat de compatibilitate \u00eentre GPU-urile AMD \u0219i CUDA, dar \u00een 2024 proiectul a fost suspendat. Conform termenilor contractului \u0219i dup\u0103 ob\u021binerea permisiunii de publicare din partea unui reprezentant AMD, Andrzej a deschis codul lucr\u0103rilor realizate \u00een timpul lucr\u0103rii la AMD, care permit rularea aplica\u021biilor CUDA deasupra stivei ROCm \u0219i runtime-ului HIP (Heterogeneous-computing Interface for Portability). <\/p>\n
Anul trecut, Andrzej a fost nevoit s\u0103 \u00eendep\u0103rteze codul din accesul deschis dup\u0103 o scrisoare de la avoca\u021bi, care au indicat c\u0103 permisiunea dat\u0103 \u00een timpul coresponden\u021bei prin email nu are valoare legal\u0103. Dup\u0103 aceea, Andrzej a \u00eenceput lucrul la o nou\u0103 versiune a ZLUDA, format\u0103 pe baza bazei de cod existente \u00eenainte de \u00eenceperea lucrului lui Andrzej la AMD. \u00cen forma curent\u0103, dezvoltarea este concentrat\u0103 asupra execut\u0103rii aplica\u021biilor care folosesc CUDA pentru accelerarea sarcinilor legate de \u00eenv\u0103\u021barea automat\u0103. Proiectul se limiteaz\u0103 momentan la lucrul pe GPU-uri AMD, dar va fi adaptat \u00een viitor pentru GPU-uri Intel. <\/p>\n
