Printre obiectivele proiectului se num\u0103r\u0103 implementarea suportului pentru standardele web moderne, men\u021bin\u00e2nd \u00een acela\u0219i timp autosuficien\u021ba, simplitatea \u0219i extensibilitatea. Codul Chawan este scris \u00een limbajul Nim \u0219i este distribuit ca domeniu public. Este compatibil cu Linux, sistemele BSD, Haiku \u0219i macOS.        <\/p>\n<p>Func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bi principale:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Suport pentru protocoalele HTTP\/1.1, HTTPS (bazat pe OpenSSL), FTP, SFTP (bazat pe libssh2), Gopher, Gemini, Finger \u0219i Spartan.\n<li class=\"l\"> Arhitectur\u0103 multi-procesor \u0219i capacitatea de a \u00eenc\u0103rca documente \u00een mod incremental.\n<li class=\"l\"> Suport pentru HTML5, formulare de introducere, cookie-uri, diverse codific\u0103ri de text.\n<li class=\"l\"> Capacitatea de a vizualiza documente \u00een format Markdown.\n<li class=\"l\"> Motor CSS cu suport pentru flex, elemente flotante (block, inline, float), tabele, selec\u021bii \u0219i reguli @.\n<li class=\"l\"> Motor JavaScript Monoucha, implementat ca un wrapper peste QuickJS-NG pentru Nim (dezactivat implicit).\n<li class=\"l\"> Combin\u0103ri de taste configurabile, utiliz\u00e2nd implicit controlul de pe tastatur\u0103 \u00een stil vim.\n<li
