Proiectul MOS dezvolt\u0103 o distribu\u021bie Linux modular\u0103 u\u0219oar\u0103 bazat\u0103 pe Devuan Linux, destinat\u0103 gestion\u0103rii serverelor de acas\u0103. Proiectul a fost ini\u021bial creat \u201epentru sine\u201d, dar ulterior a dep\u0103\u0219it limitele unui sistem pentru scopuri personale \u0219i a fost publicat \u00een acces liber. Versiunea curent\u0103 0.1.9-beta suport\u0103 doar bootarea \u00een modul UEFI. Imaginile pentru instalare pe stick-uri USB (354 MB) \u0219i pentru rulare \u00een sisteme de virtualizare (348 MB) sunt preg\u0103tite. <\/p>\n

MOS se pozi\u021bioneaz\u0103 ca un sistem de operare server general cu interfa\u021b\u0103 web. Arhitectura este construit\u0103 pe principiul API-first: interfa\u021ba web func\u021bioneaz\u0103 doar ca un client pentru REST API-ul backend-ului, toate opera\u021biunile fiind realizate de serviciile serverului. Pentru livrarea notific\u0103rilor \u00een timp real sunt utilizate WebSocket-uri. Rezultatele sunt distribuite sub licen\u021ba AGPLv3. Proiectul nu colecteaz\u0103 telemetrie \u0219i nu trimite date \u00een exterior. Cerin\u021bele minime pentru func\u021bionarea \u00eentr-o VM sunt: 2 nuclee CPU \u0219i 6 GB RAM. <\/p>\n

Din cutie, MOS include suport pentru mergerfs pentru combinarea mai multor discuri \u00eentr-un singur pool \u0219i SnapRAID pentru protec\u021bia datelor prin intermediul unor verific\u0103ri de paritate, bazate pe utilizarea snapshot-urilor (o combina\u021bie popular\u0103 pentru serverele media de acas\u0103, care nu necesit\u0103 RAID clasic). Driverii suplimentari de stocare, precum \u0219i driverii hardware (GPU, DVB) se conecteaz\u0103 prin sistemul de pluginuri. Catalogul pluginurilor \u0219i \u0219abloanelor este disponibil prin componenta MOS Hub. <\/p>\n

Containerele sunt implementate prin Docker \u0219i LXC, iar virtualizarea \u2014 prin QEMU (frontend-ul pentru VM este \u00een dezvoltare, API-ul este aproape complet func\u021bional). Serviciile sunt activate \u0219i dezactivate separat, ceea ce permite men\u021binerea minimalismului instal\u0103rii de baz\u0103. Pentru notific\u0103ri, a fost dezvoltat un serviciu separat pe Go (MOS Notify). Autentificarea \u2014 pe baz\u0103 de token, pentru utilizarea \u00een afara re\u021belelor izolate se recomand\u0103 TLS \u0219i reverse proxy.
