Compania Microsoft a creat prima versiune a proiectului Litebox, care dezvolt\u0103 un sistem de operare axat pe securitate, realizat sub forma unei biblioteci (Library OS). \u00centr-o astfel de abordare, serviciile sistemului de operare sunt integrate direct \u00een aplica\u021bie, \u00een loc s\u0103 apeleze la nucleul extern al sistemului de operare prin intermediul apelurilor de sistem. Litebox poate fi utilizat \u00een programe sau nuclee ca un strat suplimentar de izolare, restric\u021bion\u00e2nd accesul la func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bile excesive ale nucleului sau API-urilor. Codul proiectului este scris \u00een limbajul Rust \u0219i este deschis sub licen\u021ba MIT. <\/p>\n

Litebox ofer\u0103 o bibliotec\u0103 conectabil\u0103 la aplica\u021bii cu un strat izolator, care efectueaz\u0103 traducerea solicit\u0103rilor c\u0103tre interfe\u021bele externe. Printre aceste interfe\u021be externe se pot num\u0103ra nucleul Linux, medii izolate protejate OP-TEE (Open Portable Trusted Execution Environment), medii WebAssembly sau biblioteca standard RustStd. <\/p>\n

Printre posibilele domenii de aplicare ale Litebox se num\u0103r\u0103 garantarea rul\u0103rii programelor Linux nemodificate \u00een Windows, izola\u021bia execu\u021biei aplica\u021biilor Linux pe sistemele cu nucleu Linux, rularea programelor deasupra AMD SEV SNP pentru criptarea memoriei, executarea programelor OP-TEE \u00een Linux \u0219i izola\u021bie folosind conceptul LVBS (implicarea virtualiz\u0103rii hardware pentru protejarea componentelor individuale ale nucleului Linux, de exemplu, utilizate pentru controlul autenticit\u0103\u021bii modulelor \u0219i gestionarea accesului).
