VeraCrypt se remarc\u0103 prin \u00eenlocuirea algoritmului RIPEMD-160 utilizat \u00een TrueCrypt cu SHA-512 \u0219i SHA-256, cre\u0219terea num\u0103rului de itera\u021bii de hashing, simplificarea procesului de construire pentru Linux \u0219i macOS \u0219i remedierea problemelor identificate \u00een timpul audit\u0103rii codului surs\u0103 TrueCrypt. Codul dezvoltat de proiectul VeraCrypt este distribuit sub licen\u021ba Apache 2.0, iar \u00eemprumuturile din TrueCrypt continu\u0103 s\u0103 fie furnizate sub licen\u021ba TrueCrypt License 3.0. Versiunile finale sunt disponibile pentru Linux, FreeBSD, Windows \u0219i macOS.<\/p>\n<p>Printre modific\u0103rile din noua versiune:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost remediate mai multe vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bi: O suprarealocare a buffer-ului (CVE-2026-77372) la deserializarea cererilor \u00een serviciul privilegiat.
