Proiectul este dezvoltat de registrul ceh CZ.NIC, fiind scris \u00een limbajul C \u0219i <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/CZ-NIC\/knot\">se r\u0103sp\u00e2nde\u0219te<\/a><\/noindex> sub licen\u021ba GPLv3. Serverul se distinge prin orientarea sa spre performan\u021ba ridicat\u0103 a proces\u0103rii solicit\u0103rilor, pentru care se folose\u0219te o implementare multi-threaded \u0219i \u00een mare parte non-blocant\u0103, bine scalabil\u0103 pe sisteme SMP. Sunt oferite astfel de facilit\u0103\u021bi precum ad\u0103ugarea \u0219i \u0219tergerea zonelor \u00een timp real, transferul zonelor \u00eentre servere, DDNS (actualiz\u0103ri dinamice), NSID (RFC 5001), extensii EDNS0 \u0219i DNSSEC (inclusiv NSEC3), limitarea intensit\u0103\u021bii r\u0103spunsurilor (RRL). <\/p>\n<p>\u00cen noua versiune:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost introdus un nou (udp-allow-rate) pentru UDP;\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 op\u021biunea de a seta un timp de expirare infinit pentru sarea NSEC3;\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00cen ie\u0219irea knotc a fost ad\u0103ugat un nou status de evenimente cu zonele \u2014 \u2018running\u2019.\n<li class=\"l\"> S-a asigurat ignorarea informa\u021biilor despre PMTU pentru IPv4\/UDP prin op\u021biunea
