Utilitarul permite urm\u0103rirea \u0219i (\u00eencep\u00e2nd cu versiunea 4.15) interven\u021bia \u00een procesul de interac\u021biune \u00eentre program \u0219i nucleu, inclusiv apelurile sistemului, semnalele care apar \u0219i schimb\u0103rile de stare ale procesului. Pentru func\u021bionarea sa, strace utilizeaz\u0103 mecanismul <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/man7.org\/linux\/man-pages\/man2\/ptrace.2.html\">ptrace<\/a><\/noindex>. \u00cencep\u00e2nd cu versiunea 4.13, generarea versiunilor programului este sincronizat\u0103 cu lansarea noilor versiuni Linux. Codul proiectului <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/strace\/strace\">se r\u0103sp\u00e2nde\u0219te<\/a><\/noindex> sub licen\u021ba LGPLv2.1+.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cen <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/raw.githubusercontent.com\/strace\/strace\/master\/NEWS\">noua versiune<\/a><\/noindex>: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Licen\u021ba codului a fost modificat\u0103 din
