Pachetul se remarc\u0103 prin consumul redus de resurse de sistem \u0219i prin intermediile flexibile de extindere a func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bii prin pluginuri, ceea ce permite utilizarea ConnMan \u00een sisteme integrate. Proiectul a fost ini\u021bial fondat de companiile Intel \u0219i Nokia \u00een procesul de dezvoltare a platformei MeeGo, iar ulterior, sistemul de configurare a re\u021belei bazat pe ConnMan a fost utilizat \u00een platforma Tizen \u0219i \u00een unele distribu\u021bii specializate \u0219i proiecte, cum ar fi Yocto, Sailfish, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aldebaran-robotics.com\/\">Aldebaran Robotics<\/a><\/noindex> \u0219i <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nest.com\/\">Nest<\/a><\/noindex>, precum \u0219i \u00een diverse dispozitive de consum cu firmware pe baz\u0103 de Linux. Codul proiectului <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/git.kernel.org\/?p=network\/connman\/connman.git;a=summary\">se r\u0103sp\u00e2nde\u0219te<\/a><\/noindex> sub licen\u021ba GPLv2.<\/p>\n<p>Noua versiune <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/connman\/connman.git\/commit\/?id=1ee420ace2b8edb0d4025f469aaa3d00d220dc98\">este remarcabil\u0103<\/a><\/noindex> asigur\u0103 suport pentru VPN <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=44695\">WireGuard<\/a><\/noindex>  \u0219i demonul Wi-Fi <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=51779\">IWD<\/a><\/noindex> (iNet Wireless Daemon), dezvoltat de compania Intel ca o alternativ\u0103 u\u0219oar\u0103 la wpa_supplicant, potrivit\u0103 pentru organizarea conect\u0103rii sistemelor Linux \u00eencorporate la re\u021bea wireless.<\/p>\n<p>Componenta cheie a ConnMan este procesul de fundal connmand, care gestioneaz\u0103 conexiunile de re\u021bea. Interac\u021biunea \u0219i configurarea diferitelor tipuri de subsisteme de re\u021bea se realizeaz\u0103 prin pluginuri. De exemplu, sunt disponibile pluginuri pentru Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2G\/3G\/4G, VPN (Openconnect, OpenVPN, vpnc), PolicyKit, ob\u021binerea adresei prin DHCP, func\u021bionarea prin servere proxy, configurarea rezolvatorului DNS, colectarea de statistici. Pentru interac\u021biunea cu dispozitivele se folose\u0219te subsistemul de kernel Linux netlink, iar pentru comunicarea cu alte aplica\u021bii, comenzile sunt transmise prin D-Bus.
