Ini\u021bial, suportul versiunii a opta a distribu\u021biei era planificat p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een <strong>iulie 2020<\/strong> an.<\/p>\n<p>Suportul extins va fi asigurat de <strong>compania Freexian<\/strong> \u00een cadrul programului &laquo;LTS Extended&raquo;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cen cadrul suportului extins pentru distribu\u021bie, va fi oferit suport pentru un set limitat de pachete care sus\u021bin doar dou\u0103 arhitecturi &mdash; <strong>amd64<\/strong> \u0219i <strong>i386<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Suportul pentru anumite pachete nu va fi oferit, \u00een schimb va fi propus\u0103 o alternativ\u0103:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nucleu <strong>Linux 3.16<\/strong> va fi \u00eenlocuit cu <strong>Linux 4.9<\/strong>, portat din versiunea 9 a distribu\u021biei<\/li>\n<li><strong>Openjdk-7<\/strong> va fi \u00eenlocuit cu <strong>openjdk-8<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tomcat7<\/strong>  va fi sus\u021binut doar p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een <strong>martie 2021<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pentru a activa suportul, va trebui s\u0103 ad\u0103uga\u021bi \u00een sources.list un repository special al companiei Freexian. Accesul la repository va fi liber, iar num\u0103rul de pachete va depinde de num\u0103rul sponsorilor proiectului \u0219i de pachetele de care au
