Proiectul este dezvoltat de registrul ceh CZ.NIC, fiind scris \u00een limbajul C \u0219i <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/CZ-NIC\/knot\">se r\u0103sp\u00e2nde\u0219te<\/a><\/noindex> sub licen\u021ba GPLv3. <\/p>\n<p>KnotDNS se distinge prin orientarea sa c\u0103tre o \u00eenalt\u0103 performan\u021b\u0103 \u00een procesarea cererilor, av\u00e2nd o implementare multi-threaded, majoritatea fiind non-blocant\u0103, bine scalabil\u0103 pe sistemele SMP. Se ofer\u0103 posibilit\u0103\u021bi precum ad\u0103ugarea \u0219i eliminarea zonelor \u00een timp real, transferul zonelor \u00eentre servere, DDNS (actualiz\u0103ri dinamice), NSID (RFC 5001), extensii EDNS0 \u0219i DNSSEC (inclusiv NSEC3), restric\u021bii privind intensitatea r\u0103spunsurilor (RRL). <\/p>\n<p>\u00cen noua versiune:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat un mod de re\u021bea de \u00eenalt\u0103 performan\u021b\u0103, realizat folosind subsistemul <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iovisor.org\/technology\/xdp\">XDP<\/a><\/noindex> (eXpress Data Path), care ofer\u0103 instrumente pentru procesarea pachetelor la nivelul driver-ului de re\u021bea \u00eenainte de a fi procesate de stiva de re\u021bea a nucleului Linux. Pentru utilizarea acestui mod este necesar un nucleu Linux 4.18 sau mai recent.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 suportul pentru catalogul zonelor (&#171;Catalog Zones&#187;), facilit\u00e2nd \u00eentre\u021binerea serverelor DNS secundare. C\u00e2nd aceast\u0103 func\u021bionalitate este activat\u0103, \u00een loc de a defini \u00een serverul secundar \u00eenregistr\u0103ri separate pentru fiecare zon\u0103 secundar\u0103, \u00eentre serverele primar \u0219i secundar se organizeaz\u0103 transferul catalogului zonelor, dup\u0103 care zonele create pe serverul primar, marcate ca apar\u021bin\u00e2nd catalogului, vor fi create automat pe serverul secundar f\u0103r\u0103 a fi necesar\u0103 modificarea fi\u0219ierelor de configurare.
