A fost publicat primul num\u0103r al proiectului labwc, care dezvolt\u0103 un server compozit pentru Wayland av\u00e2nd func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bi asem\u0103n\u0103toare cu un manager de feronerie Openbox (proiectul este prezentat ca o tentativ\u0103 de a crea o alternativ\u0103 la Openbox pentru Wayland). Printre caracteristicile labwc se num\u0103r\u0103 minimalismul, o implementare compact\u0103, op\u021biuni extinse de configurare \u0219i performan\u021b\u0103 ridicat\u0103. Codul proiectului este scris \u00een C \u0219i este distribuit sub licen\u021ba GPLv2. <\/p>\n

Ca baz\u0103 se folose\u0219te biblioteca wlroots, dezvoltat\u0103 de dezvoltatorii mediu de utilizare Sway \u0219i care ofer\u0103 func\u021bii de baz\u0103 pentru organizarea muncii unui manager de compozitare pe baza Wayland. Pentru lansarea aplica\u021biilor X11 \u00een mediu bazat pe protocolul Wayland, se suport\u0103 utilizarea componentei DDX XWayland. <\/p>\n

Este posibil\u0103 conectarea extensiilor cu implementarea unor func\u021bii precum crearea de capturi de ecran, afi\u0219area de fundaluri pe desktop, plasarea unei bare de instrumente \u0219i a unui meniu. De exemplu, sunt propuse trei op\u021biuni pentru meniul aplica\u021biilor \u2014 bemenu, fuzzel \u0219i wofi. Ca bare de instrumente se poate utiliza Waybar. Tema de aspect, meniul de baz\u0103 \u0219i tastele rapide sunt configurate prin fi\u0219iere de configurare \u00een format xml. <\/p>\n

\u00cen viitor, se preconizeaz\u0103 asigurarea suportului pentru fi\u0219ierele de configurare Openbox \u0219i temele de design Openbox, suportul pentru ecranele HiDPI, implementarea suportului pentru protocoalele layer-shell, wlr-output-management \u0219i foreign-toplevel, integrarea suportului pentru meniu, ad\u0103ugarea op\u021biunii pentru plasarea indicatorilor pe ecran (osd) \u0219i a interfe\u021bei de comutare \u00eentre feronerie \u00een stil Alt+Tab.
