Compania Canonical a avertizat cu privire la expirarea iminent\u0103 a perioadei de cinci ani de livrare a actualiz\u0103rilor pentru distribu\u021bia Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. \u00cencep\u00e2nd cu 30 aprilie 2021, suportul public oficial pentru distribu\u021bia Ubuntu 16.04 va fi \u00eentrerupt. Pentru utilizatorii care nu reu\u0219esc s\u0103 \u00ee\u0219i migreze sistemele la Ubuntu 18.04 sau 20.04, ca \u0219i pentru versiunile anterioare LTS, a fost propus un program ESM (Extended Security Maintenance), care prelunge\u0219te publicarea actualiz\u0103rilor care remediaz\u0103 vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bile pentru kernel \u0219i cele mai importante pachete de sistem p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een aprilie 2024.
