GnuPG 2.2 este considerat o ramur\u0103 stabil\u0103, optim\u0103 pentru utilizarea general\u0103, care va fi sus\u021binut\u0103 cel pu\u021bin p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 2024. GnuPG 1.4 continu\u0103 s\u0103 fie \u00eentre\u021binut ca o serie clasic\u0103, consum\u00e2nd resurse minime, potrivit\u0103 pentru sisteme \u00eencorporate \u0219i compatibil\u0103 cu algoritmi de criptare dep\u0103\u0219i\u021bi.    <\/p>\n<p>Principalele nout\u0103\u021bi ale GnuPG 2.3.0:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost propus un proces de fundal experimental cu o implementare a unei baze de date de chei, utiliz\u00e2nd pentru stocare SGBD SQLite \u0219i demonstr\u00e2nd o c\u0103utare mai rapid\u0103 a cheilor. Pentru a activa noul depozit, este necesar\u0103 activarea op\u021biunii &#171;use-keyboxd&#187; \u00een gpg.conf \u0219i gpgsm.conf.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 o nou\u0103 utilitate gpg-card, care poate fi utilizat\u0103 ca o interfa\u021b\u0103 flexibil\u0103 pentru toate tipurile de smartcard-uri suportate.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat un nou proces de fundal tpm2d, care permite utilizarea chip-urilor TPM 2.0 pentru a proteja cheile private \u0219i pentru a efectua opera\u021biuni de criptare sau generare de semn\u0103turi digitale pe partea modulelor TPM.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ca algoritmi implicit pentru cheile publice sunt folosi\u021bi ed25519 \u0219i cv25519.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00cen gpg s-a \u00eencetat utilizarea algoritmilor cu dimensiunea blocului de 64 de bi\u021bi pentru criptare. Utilizarea 3DES este interzis\u0103, iar AES este declarat ca algoritm minim acceptat.
