Po roku vývoja bol publikovaný výstup voľného multiplatformového interpretera klasických adventúr ScummVM 2.9.0, ktorý nahrádza spustiteľné súbory pre hry a umožňuje spúšťať mnohé klasické hry na platformách, pre ktoré neboli pôvodne určené. Kód projektu je distribuovaný pod licenciou GPLv3+.
Celkom je zabezpečená možnosť spustenia viac ako 340 adventúr, vrátane hier od spoločností LucasArts, Humongous Entertainment, Revolution Software, Cyan a Sierra, ako sú Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Broken Sword, Myst, Blade Runner, King’s Quest 1-7, Space Quest 1-6, Discworld, Simon the Sorcerer, Beneath A Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress a The Legend of Kyrandia.
