Mark Surman, the head of the Mozilla Foundation, announced the creation of a venture fund, Mozilla Ventures, which will invest in startups that promote products and technologies aligned with Mozilla's ideals and its manifesto. The fund is set to begin operations in the first half of 2023, with an initial investment size of at least $35 million.

The values that startup teams should share include privacy, inclusivity, transparency, accessibility for people with disabilities, and respect for human dignity. Examples of compliant startups include Secure AI Labs (a unified patient registry for facilitating medical research), Block Party (a blocker for unwanted commentators on Twitter), and heylogin (a password manager using phone authentication instead of a master password).

Reflected principles of the manifesto:

 • Internet je neoddeliteľnou súčasťou modernej existencie, kľúčovou súčasťou vzdelávania, komunikácie, spolupráce, podnikania, zábavy a celej štruktúry spoločnosti.

 • The Internet is a global public resource that should remain open and accessible.

 • The Internet should enrich the lives of every individual.

 • The security and privacy of Internet users are fundamental and cannot be treated as secondary concerns.

 • People should be able to shape the Internet and their experience within it.

 • The effectiveness of the Internet as a public resource depends on compatibility (protocols, data formats, content), innovation, and the decentralization of Internet development efforts worldwide.

 • Open-source software promotes the development of the Internet as a public resource.

 • Transparent public processes foster collaboration, enhance accountability, and build trust.

 • Commercial involvement in Internet development provides significant benefits; however, it is important to strike a balance between commercial profit and public good.

 • Increasing the public benefit of the Internet is an important task worthy of time and attention.
