And such a guide <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Certified-Solutions-Architect-Study-Guide\/dp\/111950421X\/ref=dp_ob_title_bk\">was found<\/a><\/noindex>. The book is written rather dryly, but this is unlikely to scare off people who studied calculus with Fichtenholz.<\/p>\n<p>I read it cover to cover and believe it fully meets its goal \u2013 providing a good overview of both the services themselves and more general concepts that may come up in the exam. Additionally, a pleasant bonus is the opportunity to go through a somewhat strange registration procedure on Sybex and answer all the check questions and practice exams from the book online.<\/p>\n<p><i>An important point: I studied from a 2016 edition, but AWS changes quite dynamically, so look for the most recent edition that will be available at the time of preparation. For example, practice tests often include questions about the availability and durability of various S3 and Glacier classes, but some numbers have changed compared to 2016. Additionally, new classes have been added (for example, INTELLIGENT_TIERING or ONEZONE_IA).<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>The second motive: \"65 shades of orange\"<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Intense thinking requires certain effort. But it's no secret that many programmers experience a masochistic pleasure from puzzling tasks, questions, and sometimes even exams.<\/p>\n<p>I think this pleasure is largely akin to playing \"What? Where? When?\" or, say, a good chess match.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, the current AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam is quite good. Although during preparation, the practice questions sometimes included \"memorization ones\", such as \"<i>What is the maximum number of elastic IP addresses you can have in a VPC?<\/i>\u201c alebo \u201e<i>What is the availability of S3 IA?<\/i>Na samotnom teste sa tak\u00e9to ot\u00e1zky nevyskytovali. V podstate ka\u017ed\u00e1 z 65 ot\u00e1zok predstavovala mini\u00falohu na projektovanie. V pr\u00edpade SAA-C01 to v\u0161ak v podstate nefunguje, preto\u017ee je potrebn\u00e9 ozna\u010di\u0165 prakticky ka\u017ed\u00fa ot\u00e1zku, inak existuje riziko, \u017ee si nev\u0161imnete nejak\u00fd detail a odpoviete nespr\u00e1vne. Pripravi\u0165 sa na sk\u00fa\u0161ku a zlo\u017ei\u0165 ju \u2013 to nie je zl\u00fd n\u00e1pad?<\/p>\n<p>Mysl\u00edm, \u017ee sk\u00fa\u0161ka prebehla \u00faspe\u0161ne. Pripravoval som sa s\u00e1m a pr\u00edprava prebehla relat\u00edvne hladko. \u00c1no, p\u00e1rkr\u00e1t som zaspal v hamaku, k\u00fdm som \u010d\u00edtal manu\u00e1l, \u2013 ale to sa m\u00f4\u017ee sta\u0165 ka\u017ed\u00e9mu.<br \/>\nTeraz m\u00e1m certifik\u00e1t a slu\u0161n\u00e9 body za sk\u00fa\u0161ku ako znak pripravenosti.<br \/>\n\u2003<br \/>\nA little about what could be motivation, but it was probably not the case for me.<\/p>\n<p><b>Not the first motivation: \"Cabbage\"<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There are interesting <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/louiscolumbus\/2019\/02\/11\/15-top-paying-it-certifications-in-2019\">researches from \"Forbes\"<\/a><\/noindex> about which specialists with certain certifications are the highest paid in the world, with AWS SAA taking an honorable 4th place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"O seker\u00e1ch a kapuste\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/c0c00f36225702a7c7000b9afba9d1d8.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nBut, firstly, what's the cause and what's the effect here? I suspect that these guys earn well <br \/>\ndue to certain abilities, and those same abilities help them pass certification. Secondly, I have vague doubts that anyone will pay someone $130K a year outside the USA, no matter how many certifications they obtain.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, as it is known, after meeting the lower levels of the pyramid, salary ceases to be the main factor.<\/p>\n<p><b>Not the second motivation: \"Company Requirements\"<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Companies may encourage certifications or even require them (especially if they are necessary for partnerships, for example, to join the AWS APN in the case of Amazon). <\/p>\n<p>But in our case, we are producing an independent product; moreover, we try to avoid vendor lock-in. So no one requires certifications. They will praise and pay for the exam as a recognition of certain efforts \u2013 that\u2019s all the official stuff.<\/p>\n<p><b>Not the third motivation: \"Employment\"<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps having certifications will be a certain plus for getting a job, all else being equal. But I have no plans to change jobs. I find it interesting to work on a complex product that actively uses many modern approaches and AWS services. There\u2019s enough of all that in my current position.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there are different cases: in my 23 years in IT, I\u2019ve changed jobs about 5 times. It's not a fact that I won\u2019t have to change again if I last for another 20 years. Additionally, I generally find the video format less dense in terms of the amount of information per time unit.
