Tiho in presenetljivo neopazno je 15. decembra 2023 (praktično pred mesecem dni!) ekipa razvijalcev Shotcut izdala različico 23.12.15. Ta različica prinaša majhen sklop popravkov in posodobitev, kot so: odprava zrušitev ob zagonu Wayland v Ubuntu 22.04 in 23.10 – morda bo potrebna namestitev qt6-wayland (napaka se je pojavila v različici programa 23.11). To povzroča kršenje podpore Wayland v Ubuntu.
Projekt Meshtastic razvija odprto komunikacijsko platformo za ustvarjanje samostojne decentralizirane omrežne infrastrukture za prenos sporočil, kjer se vsaka točka omrežja povezuje prek sosednjih točk, brez uporabe centraliziranih usmerjevalnikov. Za prenos signala se uporabljajo transceiverji na osnovi protokola LoRa, ki omogočajo prenos podatkov v nekontroliranem frekvenčnem pasu s hitrostjo več kilobitov na sekundo na razdaljah v desetih ali celo stotinah kilometrov.
10. januarja so inženirji podjetja Intel izdali četrtletni sklop posodobitev FFmpeg Cartwheel 2023Q4 za multimedijsko knjižnico FFmpeg. Nov izdaja zagotavlja podporo za platformo Meteor Lake za nove prenosne računalnike, ki prihajajo na trg. Ta podpora za Meteor Lake je združena z vsemi ostalimi grafičnimi gonilniki Intel z odprto kodo, ki so vključeni v jedro Linux 6.7 (stabilni in vključeni privzeto).
