Salvatore Sanfilippo, the creator of the Redis database, je napovedal</noindex>, has announced that he will no longer be involved in maintaining the project and will dedicate his time to other pursuits. According to Salvatore, in recent years his work has revolved around analyzing external proposals for improvements and changes to the code, which is not what he wanted to focus on, as he prefers coding and creating something new over routine maintenance tasks.

Salvatore will remain on the advisory board of Redis Labs, but will limit himself to generating ideas. Development and maintenance will be handed over to the community. The role of project leader has been taken on by Yossi Gottlieb and Oran Agra, who assisted Salvatore in recent years, understand his vision for the project, care about preserving the spirit of the Redis community, and are well-versed in the code and inner workings of Redis. Nevertheless, Salvatore's departure is a significant shock for the community, as he

The issue of defining the future development model and interaction with the community is proposed to be worked out by the new maintainers, who have already napovedali</noindex> a new management structure that will involve the community.
