Giant cloud provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) has acquired a data center campus being built near the Susquehanna nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania (USA) from Talen Energy Corporation. According to Datacenter Dynamics, Talen announced the sale of the campus to a 'large cloud provider' just last week. The investor presentation revealed that it concerns AWS. The Cumulus Data campus, covering more than 485 acres, was first announced in 2021 â it is located in close proximity to Talen's 2.5 GW nuclear power plant. The company began construction in 2021 and completed the first hyper-scale facility of 28,900 mÂČ and 48 MW in 2023. Simultaneously, a separate farm for cryptocurrency mining for TeraWulf was being erected, but this does not seem to be part of the deal with Amazon.
