Founder of Opera Software, Jon von Tetzchner, is currently developing the Vivaldi browser, which is positioned as a modern alternative to the classic 'Opera.' Recently, developers released version 2.4, where users can move icons around the entire interface and customize different user profiles. This feature should help when multiple users are working with a single browser. Moreover, von Tetzchner shared more insights in an interview with CNET.

According to him, everything in the browser can be customized. There are as many as 17 pages with various settings, one of which is dedicated solely to tab settings. Von Tetzchner is confident that users will appreciate this approach.

However, what is even more interesting is that the developers have not abandoned the idea of releasing a mobile version of the browser. Work on it is currently underway. Vivaldi for Android and a separate email application are expected to be released by the end of this year.

The specialist also promised that the mobile version would be customizable like the desktop one. According to von Tetzchner, the mobile browser will surpass other similar programs in flexibility of settings, although this will not happen immediately. The first version will not have all the functionality from the start. He also stated that the email application still needs some 'refining,' although it is generally ready. At the same time, von Tetzchner explained that such an application is necessary for users who, for various reasons, cannot use the web versions of email services. 

According to the head of development, in Vivaldi, advertising will not be blocked by default, unlike in Brave. However, users will be able to download the necessary extensions themselves. Finally, von Tetzchner stated that the refusal to use the Presto browser engine (which was the foundation of classic Opera) is a significant mistake. However, he acknowledged that having multiple browsers is better than having a single one and praised Firefox for Mozilla's ongoing development efforts.
