DXTn LZHAM provides a compression algorithm optimized for packaging resources included in game applications. An API compatible with Zlib is supported. Features of LZHAM include
the use of lookup tables (up to 64 KB), dictionaries (up to 500 MB), parallel operations across multiple threads, and the application of delta changes, allowing changes to be distributed without repacking already compressed files.
In terms of compression level and packaging speed, the LZHAM implementation is comparable to LZMA, but in terms of unpacking speed, it outperforms LZMA by 1.5-8 times (though it is slower than zlib). When compared to ZSTD, LZHAM surpasses this algorithm in compression efficiency but falls behind in encoding speed by almost an order of magnitude and slightly lags in decoding speed.
