The founder of the fork «temporary-audacity» (now tenacity) announced the relinquishment of his maintainer duties due to harassment during the voting process for naming the project. Users in the \/g\/ section on the 4chan forum forced the name choice Sneedacity, where «sneed» refers to the meme «Sneed’s Feed & Seed». The fork's author rejected this name, initiated a new vote, and approved the name «tenacity». <\/p>\n
Supporters of the name Sneedacity were outraged by this decision, founded a new fork, and attempted to place the package in the AUR repository of Arch Linux, but the AUR repository was deleted due to a complaint that the name Sneedacity encodes the medical term «Special needs» and insults the mentally disabled.
