The founder of the fork 'temporary-audacity' (now tenacity) announced his resignation as maintainer due to harassment during the voting process for the project name. Users in the /g/ section on the 4chan forum pushed for the name Sneedacity, where 'sneed' refers to the meme 'Sneed's Feed & Seed'. The fork's author rejected this name, held a new vote, and approved the name 'tenacity'.

Supporters of the name Sneedacity were outraged by this decision, founded a new fork, and attempted to place the package in the Arch Linux AUR repository, but the AUR repository was removed due to a complaint that the name Sneedacity encodes the medical term 'Special needs' and offends the mentally disabled. A call was also published to send complaints about the Sneedacity repository on GitHub for inciting hatred, violence, and harassment (supporters of the name Sneedacity believe this is an attempt to combat a competing project).

After this, discussions about the identity of the author of the fork 'temporary-audacity' began on the 4chan forum and how to retaliate by getting his account on GitHub removed or discrediting him (for example, it was discovered that he does not program in C but develops in JavaScript, despite having created a fork of a C project). The author of 'temporary-audacity' was subjected to a wave of trolling, slander, and insults, which culminated in him having to call the police, as unknown adversaries had tracked down his home address and threatened him with physical violence (according to the fork's author, he was stabbed in the arm in front of three witnesses, but users in the 4chan forum consider this to be a fabrication).
Burimi: opennet.ru
