Mjedisi i baz\u00ebs s\u00eb desktopit \u00ebsht\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar mbi GNUstep, por p\u00ebrdoruesit kan\u00eb mund\u00ebsin\u00eb t\u00eb instalojn\u00eb WindowMaker, GNOME, Xfce ose Lumina. Nj\u00eb imazh instalues me madh\u00ebsi 774 MB \u00ebsht\u00eb p\u00ebrgatitur p\u00ebr shkarkim (x86, amd64). <\/p>\n
Ndryshe nga nd\u00ebrtimet e tjera p\u00ebr desktop t\u00eb FreeBSD, sistemi operativ MidnightBSD fillimisht \u00ebsht\u00eb zhvilluar si nj\u00eb fork i FreeBSD 6.1-beta, i cili n\u00eb vitin 2011 u sinkronizua me baz\u00ebn kodit t\u00eb FreeBSD 7 dhe m\u00eb pas p\u00ebrfshiu shum\u00eb mund\u00ebsi nga deg\u00ebt FreeBSD 9-12.
