Mark Surman, the head of the Mozilla Foundation, announced the creation of Mozilla Ventures, a venture fund that will invest in startups promoting products and technologies aligned with Mozilla's ideals and manifesto. The fund will begin operating in the first half of 2023, with an initial investment size of at least 35 million dollars.

Values that should be shared by startup teams include privacy, inclusivity, transparency, accessibility for people with disabilities, and respect for human dignity. Examples of startups meeting the requirements include Secure AI Labs (a unified patient registry to facilitate interactions in medical research), Block Party (a blocker for unwanted commenters on Twitter), and heylogin (a password manager using phone verification instead of a master password).

Principles reflected in the manifesto:

 • Internet — është një pjesë e pandashme e jetës moderne, një komponent kyç në arsim, komunikim, bashkëpunim, biznes, argëtim dhe strukturën e shoqërisë në tërësi.

 • The Internet is a global public resource that should remain open and accessible.

 • The Internet should enrich the lives of every person.

 • The security and privacy of Internet users are fundamental and cannot be treated as secondary issues.

 • People should be able to shape the Internet and their presence in it.

 • The effectiveness of the Internet as a public resource depends on compatibility (protocols, data formats, content), innovation, and decentralization of Internet development worldwide.

 • Open-source software contributes to the development of the Internet as a public resource.

 • Transparent public processes foster collaboration, enhance accountability and trust.

 • Commercial involvement in Internet development brings significant benefits; it is important to maintain a balance between commercial profit and public benefit.

 • Increasing the public benefit of the Internet is an important task worthy of time and attention.
