The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, suggested that the DDoS attack on the messenger, which occurred on Wednesday and caused service disruptions, may have been orchestrated by the Chinese government.<\/p>\n

The founder of Telegram wrote on Twitter that the DDoS attack predominantly utilized Chinese IP addresses. He also emphasized that historically, the largest DDoS attacks on Telegram coincide with the timing of protests in Hong Kong, and this case was no exception.<\/p>\n

The Telegram messenger is actively used by residents of Hong Kong, as it allows them to avoid detection while organizing and coordinating protests. The attack on Telegram may indicate that the Chinese government is trying to disrupt the messenger's operations and limit its effectiveness as a tool for organizing large-scale protests.<\/p>\n
