N\u00eb vitin 2008 u publikua standardi i p\u00ebrmir\u00ebsuar IEEE 1588-2008, i cili p\u00ebrshkruan PTP Version 2. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb version t\u00eb protokollit, sakt\u00ebsia dhe stabiliteti u p\u00ebrmir\u00ebsuan, por nuk u ruajt p\u00ebrshtatshm\u00ebria prapa me versionin e par\u00eb t\u00eb protokollit. Po ashtu, n\u00eb vitin 2019 doli versioni i standardit IEEE 1588-2019, i cili p\u00ebrshkruan PTP v2.1.
