Release of the Siduction 2021.3 project has been formed, developing a desktop-oriented Linux distribution built on the Debian Sid (unstable) package base. Siduction is a fork of Aptosid, which separated in July 2011. The key distinction from Aptosid was the use of a newer version of KDE as the user environment from the experimental Qt-KDE repository. Releases are available based on KDE (2.9 GB), Xfce (2.5 GB), and LXQt (2.5 GB), as well as a minimalist 'Xorg' build based on the Fluxbox window manager (2 GB) and a 'noX' build (983 MB) provided without a graphical environment for users who wish to assemble their own system. To log into the live session, use the login/password â 'siducer/live'.

- Due to a lack of developers' time, the creation of builds with the Cinnamon, LXDE, and MATE desktops has been discontinued. Focus is now being shifted to the KDE, LXQt, Xfce, Xorg, and noX builds.
- The package base has been synchronized with the Debian Unstable repository as of December 23. Updated versions of the Linux kernel 5.15.11 and systemd 249.7. The offered desktops are KDE Plasma 5.23.4, LXQt 1.0, and Xfce 4.16.
- Builds with all desktop environments for connecting to wireless networks have been switched by default to use the iwd daemon instead of wpa_supplicant. Iwd can be used standalone or in conjunction with NetworkManager, systemd-networkd, and Connman. An option has been provided to revert to wpa_supplicant.
- In addition to sudo for executing commands on behalf of another user, the base set includes the doas utility, developed by the OpenBSD project. In the new version, input completion files for bash have been added for doas.
- Following changes in Debian Sid, the distribution has been switched to use multimedia servern PipeWire instead of PulseAudio and Jack.
- The ncdu package has been replaced with a faster alternative, gdu.
- Included is the clipboard manager CopyQ.
- The program for managing the photo collection, Digikam, has been removed from the delivery. The reason given is the excessive package size â 130 MB.
