Offentliga versioner för Raspberry Pi 4 baserade pÄ Sisyphus Àr tillgÀngliga

Just posted in the ALT community mailing lists an announcement about public availability of the first builds for affordable single-board computers Raspberry Pi 4 based on the free software repository Sisyphus. The prefix regular in the build name means that it will now be produced on a regular basis according to the current state of the repository. In fact, prototypes were recently presented to the public in the halls of the OSSDEVCON-2019 conference in Kaluga. The author had the opportunity to personally verify that the desktop performance on RPi4 already meets the assessment of 'sufficiently comfortable'. Moreover, it was pleasantly surprising that the single-board computer does not overheat without active cooling and even without heatsinks — the chips felt warm, but not hot. Obviously, for more serious tasks, quality power supply and cooling will still be necessary, however, the results are still impressive.

The builds based on Sisyphus, as well as the stable p9 branch (the architecture of the older RPi models is designated as aarch64) are already running on Raspberry Pi 3 B and B+ models, according to their hardware capabilities. Installation and launch instructions are also publicly available. We eagerly await the start of official builds for RPi4 of the Alt family.
