Programmen fungerar som l\u00e4tta containrar d\u00e4r WebAssembly-pseudokod k\u00f6rs. Dessa containrar \u00e4r oberoende av operativsystemet och kan inkludera kod som ursprungligen \u00e4r skriven i vilket programmeringsspr\u00e5k som helst. Emscripten-verktygen kan anv\u00e4ndas f\u00f6r kompilering till WebAssembly. Hastigheten f\u00f6r LLVM-runtime med flyttalsv\u00e4rden har \u00f6kat med cirka 50 %. Funktionsanrop har accelererats avsev\u00e4rt genom en minskning av situationer som kr\u00e4ver \u00e5tkomst till k\u00e4rnan. Prestandan hos kodgeneratorn Cranelift har \u00f6kat med 40 %.
