Installationsbilder har f\u00f6rberetts f\u00f6r arkitekturerna x86_64, ARM64, ppc64le och s390x i form av en bootbar bild (840 MB), en minimal bild (1,6 GB) och en fullst\u00e4ndig bild (8,6 GB). Snart kommer Live-builds med GNOME, KDE och Xfce, liksom bilder f\u00f6r Raspberry Pi, containrar och molnplattformar att skapas.    <\/p>\n<p>Distributionen \u00e4r helt bin\u00e4rt kompatibel med Red Hat Enterprise Linux och kan anv\u00e4ndas som en ers\u00e4ttning f\u00f6r RHEL 9.1 och CentOS 9 Stream. \u00c4ndringarna h\u00e4nf\u00f6r sig till ombranding, borttagning av RHEL-specifika paket s\u00e5som redhat-*, insights-client, subscription-manager-migration*, kpatch*, kmod-redhat-*, rhc, spice* och virtio-win.      <\/p>\n<p>AlmaLinux-distributionen grundades av CloudLinux som svar p\u00e5 den f\u00f6r tidiga nedl\u00e4ggningen av CentOS 8:s st\u00f6d av Red Hat (utgivning av uppdateringar f\u00f6r CentOS 8 stoppades i slutet av 2021, och inte 2029, som anv\u00e4ndarna hade trott). Projektet \u00f6vervakas av en separat ideell organisation, AlmaLinux OS Foundation, som skapades f\u00f6r att utvecklas p\u00e5 en neutral plattform med samh\u00e4llsdeltagande och en styrmodell liknande den f\u00f6r Fedora-projektet.
