Detta \u00e4r den fj\u00e4rde utg\u00e5van av OpenIKED som ett separat projekt \u2013 fr\u00e5n b\u00f6rjan var IKEv2-komponenterna en odelbar del av OpenBSD:s IPsec-stack, men de har sedan dess avskilts som ett eget portabelt paket och kan nu anv\u00e4ndas i andra operativsystem. OpenIKED har testats p\u00e5 FreeBSD, NetBSD, macOS och olika Linux-distributioner, inklusive Arch, Debian, Fedora och Ubuntu. Koden \u00e4r skriven i C och distribueras under ISC-licensen.    <\/p>\n<p>OpenIKED m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r implementering av virtuella privata n\u00e4tverk baserade p\u00e5 IPsec. IPsec-stacken best\u00e5r av tv\u00e5 huvudprotokoll: nyckelutbytesprotokollet (IKE) och protokollet f\u00f6r \u00f6verf\u00f6ring av krypterad trafik (ESP). OpenIKED implementerar autentiseringselement, konfiguration, nyckelutbyte och uppr\u00e4tth\u00e5llande av s\u00e4kerhetspolicys, medan protokollet f\u00f6r trafikschiffering ESP vanligtvis tillhandah\u00e5lls av operativsystemets k\u00e4rna.
