Den f\u00f6rsta stabila releasen av projektet nghttp3 \u00e4r tillg\u00e4nglig, som utvecklar ett bibliotek p\u00e5 C-spr\u00e5ket med en implementering av HTTP\/3-protokollet. HTTP\/3-standarden definierar anv\u00e4ndningen av QUIC-protokollet (Quick UDP Internet Connections) som transport f\u00f6r HTTP\/2. QUIC \u00e4r en \u00f6verbyggnad ovanp\u00e5 UDP-protokollet som st\u00f6der multiplexering av flera anslutningar och tillhandah\u00e5ller krypteringsmetoder som motsvarar TLS\/SSL. Protokollet skapades \u00e5r 2013 av Google som ett alternativ till TCP+TLS f\u00f6r webben, vilket l\u00f6ser problem med l\u00e5ng tid f\u00f6r anslutningsetablering och \u00f6verenskommelse i TCP och eliminerar f\u00f6rdr\u00f6jningar vid paketf\u00f6rlust under data\u00f6verf\u00f6ring. <\/p>\n
I nghttp3 tillhandah\u00e5lls en oberoende implementation av specifikationerna RFC 9114 (HTTP\/3 \u00f6ver QUIC-protokollet), RFC 920 (komprimeringstekniken QPACK), RFC 9220 (WebSockets \u00f6ver HTTP\/3) och RFC 9218 (utvidgad schema f\u00f6r hantering av prioritering vid svar p\u00e5 klientf\u00f6rfr\u00e5gningar). Biblioteket \u00e4r oberoende av specifika QUIC-stacks och st\u00f6der arbete \u00f6ver olika implementationer av transportprotokollet QUIC. Samtidigt utvecklar projektet \u00e4ven en egen implementation av QUIC-protokollet \u2014 ngtcp2, som anv\u00e4nds som standard. Som backend f\u00f6r datakryptering i ngtcp2 st\u00f6ds quictls, GnuTLS, BoringSSL, Picotls och wolfSSL.
