Roten till problemet ligger i anv\u00e4ndningen av frigiven minne (use-after-free) i nf_tables-modulen, ansvarig f\u00f6r funktionaliteten hos paketfiltreringen nftables.<\/p>\n<p><\/noindex><\/noindex>  <noindex><\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5rbarhet <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/linux\/kernel\/git\/torvalds\/linux.git\/commit\/?id=3c4287f62044\">giltig<\/a> fr\u00e5n version 5.6 av Linux-k\u00e4rnan. \u00c5tg\u00e4rden <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/linux\/kernel\/git\/torvalds\/linux.git\/commit\/?id=317eb9685095678f2c9f5a8189de698c5354316a\">f\u00f6reslagit<\/a> finns i testversionen av Linux-k\u00e4rnan 6.7-rc5 och har inf\u00f6rlivats i de nuvarande stabila grenarna 5.10.204, 5.15.143, 6.1.68 och 6.6.7.<\/p>\n<p><\/noindex> <noindex><\/p>\n<p>Problemet orsakas av ett fel i funktionen nft_pipapo_walk, som inte kontrollerar dubbletter under iterationen \u00f6ver PIPAPO-element (Pile Packet Policies). Detta leder till dubbel frigivning av minnet. F\u00f6r en framg\u00e5ngsrik attack kr\u00e4vs \u00e5tkomst till nftables, vilket kan erh\u00e5llas genom att ha r\u00e4ttigheten CAP_NET_ADMIN i vilket anv\u00e4ndarnamn (user namespace) eller n\u00e4tverksnamn (network namespace) som helst. Dessa r\u00e4ttigheter kan tillhandah\u00e5llas, till exempel i isolerade containrar.
