Projektet skapades 2018 och anv\u00e4nde ursprungligen C, men 2020 omstartades det helt fr\u00e5n grunden med h\u00e4nsyn till den erfarenhet som samlats och \u00f6vergick till Rust f\u00f6r att minska risken f\u00f6r minnesfel. K\u00e4rnans kod distribueras under MIT-licensen. F\u00f6rutom k\u00e4rnan utvecklas \u00e4ven X11-<a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/sv\/server\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">server<\/a>, paketf\u00f6rvaltaren, bootloadern, installat\u00f6ren, verktygsupps\u00e4ttningar och andra n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga komponenter f\u00f6r att bygga ett operativsystem.       <\/p>\n<p>K\u00e4rnan har en monolitisk arkitektur och st\u00f6der f\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande endast x86-system i 32-bitarsl\u00e4ge. Kodbasen f\u00f6r k\u00e4rnan omfattar 48,8 tusen kodrader (f\u00f6r j\u00e4mf\u00f6relse, Linux-k\u00e4rnan har 33 miljoner kodrader). Det \u00e4r m\u00f6jligt att k\u00f6ra i QEMU, VirtualBox eller direkt p\u00e5 h\u00e5rdvaran. I det nuvarande utvecklingssteget har Maestro implementerat 31% (135 av 437) av systemanropen i Linux, vilket \u00e4r tillr\u00e4ckligt f\u00f6r att ladda ett konsolmilj\u00f6 baserat p\u00e5 bash och den standard C-biblioteket Musl.
