I Linux From Scratch finns instruktioner f\u00f6r att skapa ett grundl\u00e4ggande Linux-system fr\u00e5n grunden, med enbart k\u00e4llkoden f\u00f6r den n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga programvaran. Beyond Linux From Scratch kompletterar LFS-instruktionerna med information om kompilering och konfigurering av cirka 1000 programpaket som t\u00e4cker olika anv\u00e4ndningsomr\u00e5den, fr\u00e5n databaser och serversystem till grafiska anv\u00e4ndargr\u00e4nssnitt och mediespelare.      <\/p>\n<p>Den nya grenen \u00e4r anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rd f\u00f6r att den avbryter uppdateringen av versionerna av guiderna Linux From Scratch (LFS) och Beyond Linux From Scratch (BLFS) i konfiguration med init-systemet SysVinit. Tillg\u00e5ngen till guiden LFS\/BLFS 12.4 med SysVinit kommer att bevaras, medan utg\u00e5van LFS\/BLFS 13.0 endast kommer att bildas i version med systemhanteraren systemd.     <\/p>\n<p>I Linux From Scratch 13.0 har 36 paket uppdaterats, bland dem Linux-k\u00e4rnan 6.18.10, systemd 259.1, binutils-2.46, glibc-2.42, vim 9.2.0078, zlib 1.3.2, Python 3.14.3, coreutils 9.10, openssl 3.6.1, sqlite 3.50.4. Fel i startskripten har \u00e5tg\u00e4rdats och redaktionellt arbete har utf\u00f6rts i f\u00f6rklarande material genom hela boken.         <\/p>\n<p>I Beyond Linux From Scratch 13.0 har mer \u00e4n 1500 uppdateringar registrerats. Bland annat har versionerna av GNOME, KDE Plasma, Xfce och LXQt uppdaterats. LXQt har f\u00e5tt st\u00f6d f\u00f6r Wayland. Nya paket har lagts till: Glycin, Showtime, Loupe, simdutf, kquickimageeditor, qtkeychain, kddockwidgets, lxqt-wayland-session, libheif, libde265, libfyaml, SVT-AV1, dav1d, SDL3, sdl2-compat, Maturin, setuptools_rust, semantic_version, uv_build, blueprint-compiler. Paket som har tagits bort: sqlite (flyttad till LFS), Sendmail, atkmm-2.28.x, dhcpcd, bridge-utils, pcre2, webp-pixbuf-loader.         <\/p>\n<p>\u00c4ven handboken \"Gaming Linux From Scratch 13.0\" har uppdaterats med instruktioner f\u00f6r installation av datorspel och tillh\u00f6rande program som Steam och Wine i LFS 13.0.
