Detta inneb\u00e4r att AMD:s ber\u00e4kningsstack f\u00f6r AI\/ML och HPC kommer att uppdateras inom ramen f\u00f6r vanliga stabila uppdateringar av Ubuntu, utan att v\u00e4nta p\u00e5 n\u00e4sta version av distributionen. Meddelandet publicerades den 3 juni 2026 p\u00e5 Ubuntu-bloggen.<\/p>\n<p>ROCm \u00e4r AMD:s \u00f6ppna programvarustack f\u00f6r accelererade ber\u00e4kningar p\u00e5 GPU:er, APU:er och CPU:er, anv\u00e4nd f\u00f6r maskininl\u00e4rning, lokal inferens och h\u00f6gpresterande ber\u00e4kningar. I Ubuntu 26.04 LTS \u00e4r ROCm redan tillg\u00e4nglig fr\u00e5n standardf\u00f6rr\u00e5den: hela bibliotekssatsen installeras med kommandot sudo apt install rocm, och utvecklingssatserna med sudo apt install rocm-dev. Efter installationen ska uppdateringar och s\u00e4kerhetsfixar komma via den vanliga apt upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>Den f\u00f6rsta versionen som kom till Ubuntu 26.04 LTS var <strong>ROCm 7.1.0<\/strong>. Canonical f\u00f6rklarar detta med att inkluderingen av ett stort antal nya paket i Ubuntu-arkiven tog tid, och 7.1.0 var aktuell vid tidpunkten f\u00f6r paketeringen. Samtidigt har upstream redan avancerat: enligt AMD b\u00f6rjade serien <strong>ROCm 7.2<\/strong> sl\u00e4ppas i januari 2026, och versionen <strong>7.2.4<\/strong> publicerades den 29 maj 2026.<\/p>\n<p>I den n\u00e4rmaste framtiden arbetar Canonical med att paketera <strong>ROCm 7.2<\/strong> och ut\u00f6ka upps\u00e4ttningen av testad h\u00e5rdvara. Applikationer kommer att kunna h\u00e4mta n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga ROCm-bibliotek som beroenden, containrar och snap\/deb-paket kommer att kunna f\u00f6rlita sig p\u00e5 systempaket, och prestanda- och s\u00e4kerhetsfixar kommer att levereras via den standardiserade uppdateringsinfrastrukturen i Ubuntu.
