Situation<\/a><\/noindex> med avskaffandet av 32-bitars paket i Ubuntu f\u00e5tt ett nytt uppsving f\u00f6r utvecklingen. P\u00e5 diskussionsplattformen meddelade Steve Langasek fr\u00e5n Canonical uttalade<\/a><\/noindex>, att de planerar att anv\u00e4nda bibliotekspaket fr\u00e5n Ubuntu 18.04. Detta kommer att m\u00f6jligg\u00f6ra anv\u00e4ndning av spel och applikationer f\u00f6r x86-arkitektur, men support f\u00f6r sj\u00e4lva biblioteken kommer inte att finnas. Med tanke p\u00e5 att version 18.04 kommer att st\u00f6djas i den kostnadsfria varianten fram till april 2023 och i den betalda fram till 2028, s\u00e5 kommer biblioteken att porteras. Det f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas delvis l\u00f6sa problemet med kompatibilitet med 32-bitarsapplikationer.<\/p>\n

Ett annat alternativ \u00e4r att k\u00f6ra spel och applikationer i milj\u00f6n Ubuntu 18.04 eller som snap-paket i runtime core18. Men detta \u00e4r ol\u00e4mpligt f\u00f6r att k\u00f6ra Wine. Dessutom kommer avskaffandet av 32-bitarsbiblioteken att leda till att vissa Linux-drivrutiner f\u00f6r skrivare blir obrukbara.
