Projektet utvecklas av den tjeckiska namnregistret CZ.NIC, skriven i C och <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/CZ-NIC\/knot\">sprids<\/a><\/noindex> under GPLv3 license. The server is designed for high-performance request processing, using a multithreaded and mostly non-blocking implementation that scales well on SMP systems.
