Programmet l\u00f6ser problemet med kvarst\u00e5ende data i dokument och multimediainneh\u00e5ll som kan uppfattas som o\u00f6nskade att avsl\u00f6ja. Till exempel kan foton inneh\u00e5lla data om plats, tid f\u00f6r tagning och enhet, medan redigerade bilder kan inneh\u00e5lla information om operativsystemet och programmen som anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r redigering, och i kontorsdokument och PDF-filer kan det finnas uppgifter om f\u00f6rfattare och f\u00f6retag. Projektkoden \u00e4r skriven i Python och <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/0xacab.org\/jvoisin\/mat2\">sprids<\/a><\/noindex> sl\u00e4pps under LGPLv3-licensen. Projektet tillhandah\u00e5ller ett bibliotek f\u00f6r reng\u00f6ring av metadata, ett kommandoradsverktyg och ett antal plugins f\u00f6r integration med filhanterare som GNOME Nautilus och KDE Dolphin.<\/p>\n<p>I den nya versionen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Tillagd st\u00f6d f\u00f6r formaten SVG och PPM;\n<li class=\"l\"> Integrering med filhanteraren Dolphin s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lld;\n<li class=\"l\"> F\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrad st\u00f6d f\u00f6r behandling av metadata i PPT- och ODT-filer, samt i MS Office-format;\n<li class=\"l\"> Kompatibilitet med Python 3.8 implementerad;\n<li
