Lucet-kompilatorn \u00e4r baserad p\u00e5 samma kod som JIT-motorn <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bytecodealliance\/cranelift\">Cranelift<\/a><\/noindex>, som anv\u00e4nds i Firefox f\u00f6r att k\u00f6ra WebAssembly. <\/p>\n<p>Den sammanst\u00e4llda modulen arbetar i ett separat minnesomr\u00e5de och har ingen tillg\u00e5ng till det \u00f6vriga adressutrymmet. WebAssembly-hanterare kr\u00e4ver n\u00e4stan inga extra resurser och interaktionen med dem \u00e4r inte mycket l\u00e5ngsammare \u00e4n anrop av vanliga funktioner (bibliotekets funktioner k\u00f6rs i form av nativen kod, och overhead uppst\u00e5r endast vid kopiering och verifiering av data under interaktionen med den isolerade milj\u00f6n). Isolerade bibliotekets funktioner kan inte anropas direkt och f\u00f6r att komma \u00e5t dem m\u00e5ste man anv\u00e4nda<br \/>\n lager invoke_sandbox_function(). <\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r sin del, om externa funktioner beh\u00f6ver anropas fr\u00e5n biblioteket, m\u00e5ste dessa funktioner uttryckligen definieras med metoden register_callback (standardm\u00e4ssigt ger RLBox \u00e5tkomst till funktioner <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/plsyssec.github.io\/rlbox_sandboxing_api\/sphinx\/#stdlib\">fr\u00e5n standardbiblioteket<\/a><\/noindex>). F\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla s\u00e4ker hantering av minne (memory safety) \u00e4r det inte tillr\u00e4ckligt med kodens exekveringsisolering, utan det kr\u00e4vs ocks\u00e5 verifiering av de returnerade datastr\u00f6mmarna.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e4rden som genereras i den isolerade milj\u00f6n m\u00e4rks som icke-betrodda, begr\u00e4nsas med hj\u00e4lp av <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/plsyssec.github.io\/rlbox_sandboxing_api\/sphinx\/#tainted\">tainted-m\u00e4rkningar<\/a><\/noindex> och f\u00f6r &#171;rensning&#187; kr\u00e4ver <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/plsyssec.github.io\/rlbox_sandboxing_api\/sphinx\/#verification\">verifiering<\/a><\/noindex> och kopiering till applikationens minne.<br \/>\nUtan rensning leder f\u00f6rs\u00f6ket att anv\u00e4nda tainted-data i ett sammanhang som kr\u00e4ver vanliga data (och vice versa) till att generera fel vid kompilering.
