Utsl\u00e4pp av uppdateringar f\u00f6r LTS-grenen \u00e4gde rum av en separat grupp utvecklare <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.debian.org\/LTS\/\">LTS Team<\/a><\/noindex>, skapad av entusiaster och representanter fr\u00e5n f\u00f6retag som var intresserade av l\u00e5ngvarig leverans av uppdateringar f\u00f6r Debian. <\/p>\n<p>Den initiativtagande gruppen har redan p\u00e5b\u00f6rjat bildandet av en ny LTS-gren baserat p\u00e5  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=46713\">Debian 9 \u00abStretch\u00bb<\/a><\/noindex>, vars officiella st\u00f6d l\u00f6per ut den 18 juli 2020. LTS-teamet har tagit \u00f6ver stafettpinnen fr\u00e5n Security Team och kommer att forts\u00e4tta st\u00f6det utan avbrott. Utsl\u00e4pp av uppdateringar f\u00f6r Debian 9 kommer att f\u00f6rl\u00e4ngas till den 30 juni 2022 (\u00e4nnu mer LTS-st\u00f6d kommer att ges f\u00f6r Debian 10, vars uppdateringar kommer att sl\u00e4ppas fram till 2024). Precis som f\u00f6r Debian 8, kommer LTS-st\u00f6d f\u00f6r Debian 9 och Debian 10 att g\u00e4lla endast f\u00f6r arkitekturerna i386, amd64, armel och armhf, och den totala st\u00f6dtiden kommer att vara 5 \u00e5r. <\/p>\n<p>Avslutningen av LTS-support betyder dock inte att livscykeln f\u00f6r Debian 8.0 \u00e4r \u00f6ver i den utvidgade programmet \"<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.debian.org\/LTS\/Extended\">Extended LTS<\/a><\/noindex>\u00bb f\u00f6retaget Freexian har uttryckt sin beredskap att fram till 30 juni 2022 utf\u00e4rda uppdateringar som \u00e5tg\u00e4rdar s\u00e5rbarheter f\u00f6r ett begr\u00e4nsat antal paket f\u00f6r arkitekturerna amd64, armel och i386. Med inf\u00f6randet av initiativen LTS och Extended LTS har detta hinder avl\u00e4gsnats och st\u00f6dperioden f\u00f6r Debian har ut\u00f6kats till sju \u00e5r fr\u00e5n releasedatum, vilket \u00e4r
