Systemet \u00e4r avsett f\u00f6r att hantera uppgifter som att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla arbetet f\u00f6r teknisk support (help desk), hantera svar p\u00e5 kundf\u00f6rfr\u00e5gningar (telefon, e-post), samordna leveransen av f\u00f6retags IT-tj\u00e4nster, hantera ans\u00f6kningar inom f\u00f6rs\u00e4ljning och ekonomi. Koden f\u00f6r OTOBO \u00e4r skriven i Perl och <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/RotherOSS\/otobo\">sprids<\/a><\/noindex> under GPLv3-licensen.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Rother, nu grundare och verkst\u00e4llande direkt\u00f6r f\u00f6r Rother OSS, ansl\u00f6t sig till OTRS GmbH (idag OTRS AG) 2004. \u00c5r 2011 grundade han sitt eget f\u00f6retag Rother OSS. Fram till 2019 hade Rother OSS fokuserat p\u00e5 att erbjuda aff\u00e4rstj\u00e4nster relaterade till OTRS med \u00f6ppen k\u00e4llkod.
