TrendFocus, according to the StorageNewsletter resource, has published the results of a study of the global HDD market in the first quarter of 2024. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, device shipments increased by 2,9%, reaching 29,68 million units. At the same time, the total capacity of sold drives jumped by 22% quarter-on-quarter - to 262,13 EB. It is noted that sales of Nearline discs in the period from January to March inclusive exceeded 12 million units. The total capacity of these devices was 210 EB, which corresponds to approximately 80% of the total volume of delivered HDDs.
