New Microsoft Azure Security Center Features Announced

As more organizations innovate faster by moving their businesses to the cloud, improving security is becoming critical for every industry. Azure has built-in security controls for data, applications, compute, networks, identity, and threat protection, allowing you to customize protection and integrate partner solutions.

We continue to invest in security, and we're excited to share some of the cool updates we announced last week at Hannover Messe 2019. These include Azure Storage Advanced Threat Protection, the Compliance Dashboard, and support for Virtual Machine Scale Sets. ) (VMSS). Full list under the cut.

New Microsoft Azure Security Center Features Announced

Azure Security Center now has the following features announced at Hannover Messe 2019:

  • Advanced Threat Protection for Azure Storage - A layer of protection that helps customers detect potential threats in their storage account and respond to them as they arise - without the need to be a security expert.
  • Compliance Dashboard - Helps Security Center clients streamline their compliance process by providing information about their compliance status for a set of supported standards and rules.
  • Support for Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS) - Easily monitor the security status of your VMSS with security advisories.
  • Dedicated Hardware Security Module (HSM) (Available in the UK, Canada, and Australia) - Stores cryptographic keys in Azure and meets the most stringent security and customer requirements.
  • Support for Azure Disk Encryption for VMSS - Azure Disk Encryption can now be enabled for Windows and Linux VMSS in Azure Public Regions - Provides customers with the ability to secure and store VMSS data at rest using standard encryption technology.
